Why Loft-E® is the Premier Choice for County Durham Homes

Modern UK building regulations mandate that new roofs have between 270mm and 400mm of mineral wool quilt insulation. Fitting boards directly onto 100mm ceiling joists will compress the insulation by more than 60%, severely degrading its thermal R-value, violating NHBC standards, and leading to condensation.

The Loft-E® system features high-grade galvanised steel brackets and load-distributing legs that elevate the storage platform 270mm above the joists. It creates a continuous ventilation void underneath, allowing moisture-laden warm air to dissipate harmlessly. While the Loft-E® leg system will hold well in excess of standard domestic storage, we recommend a safe 25kg per m² load and advise spreading out heavy objects evenly across the floor.

Loft-E Subframe System

Continuous Air Gap

Leaves a full 50mm airflow gap above the insulation layer, ensuring cold roof spaces remain completely compliant with UK Building Regulations Part L for energy conservation and condensation control.

Weight Distribution

Distributes weight evenly across load-bearing truss nodes, preventing ceiling deflection. We recommend a safe domestic storage load of 25kg/m² and spreading out heavy objects.

NHBC Warranty Safe

Recognised and approved for new build properties. Installing Loft-E will never invalidate your 10-year NHBC or Premier Guarantee builder warranty.
